A person is in hospital after he was hit by a automotive close to a North East procuring centre, police have confirmed.

The 24-year-old was concerned within the incident in Stockton yesterday (July 20).

He was on foot when he was concerned in a collision involving the motive force of an Audi A3 in Riverside Highway, close to Castlegate procuring centre.

A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and was later launched beneath investigation whereas enquiries proceed.

Emergency providers had been known as to the scene after it was reported at about 12.55pm.

The pedestrian was taken to James Cook dinner College Hospital with leg and pelvic accidents, and he stays there whereas receiving therapy.

An investigation is underway.
