Over 30 households obtain free booster seats for kids

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Over 30 households obtained booster seats for kids on Wednesday, some obtained a number of.

These have been free, due to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Passenger Security and Kidsafe Initiatives and a partnership with the Brazos County Extension and TxDOT. The occasion was held at Bethel Lutheran Church on Wednesday. Every seat given away was authorised by the Texas Division of Public Security.

Occasion attendees discovered the best way to correctly put the automotive seats within the car and safe the kid within the seat. Booster seats are required for kids below 8 years outdated and shorter than 4′9″. However, it is a frequent step that will get skipped, sending children on to the car seat.

Ana Castrejon, the AgriLife Child Secure Program Coordinator, says this step is significant for kids.

“If the kid will not be correctly secured within the car, then meaning the seatbelt will not be going proper over their hips and it’s going, most likely at their tummy and so in an impression, it’s really going to crush, go proper by the abdomen and may even paralyze them,” she mentioned.
