Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a person following an alleged tried carjacking and theft at a purchasing centre in Cheltenham.
It’s alleged the person approached a lady after she parked her Audi Q3 in a parking lot on Nepean Freeway round 10.20am on Monday, 18 July.
After the lady exited the automobile, the person allegedly entered the motive force’s seat and demanded she hand over her keys.
When the lady refused handy over the keys, the person allegedly threatened to stab her, and the lady screamed and ran from the scene.
Investigators arrested the person at a house in Frankston the next day, and $3,000 price of allegedly stolen clothes was positioned on the property.
It’s believed the gadgets of clothes have been stolen from the purchasing centre in Cheltenham in latest weeks.
The 31-year-old Frankston man has been charged with tried carjacking, tried theft of motorized vehicle and threats to inflict severe harm.
He was remanded to look earlier than Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court docket on 10 August.
